Signature Cocktails
Did you know that the Grand Hotel Sitea has its own signature cocktail?
Named Sitea, it has the scent of exotic fruits and the colors of the sky and sea.
In 1985, a young Giuseppe Beppe Loi won the prestigious Angelo Zola prize, awarded to bartenders under 30, with his creation: the Blue Sky —a vibrant mix of rum, pineapple juice, orgeat syrup, and blue curaçao.
Years later, as the beloved host of our American Bar, Beppe reimagined his award-winning drink in homage to the Grand Hotel Sitea, and thus, Sitea was born.
Crafted with vodka, pineapple juice, coconut, and blue curaçao, the Sitea cocktail offers a nostalgic taste that transports you back nearly 30 years. It’s an off-menu treasure known to just a few loyal patrons—but if you’re enjoying a quiet evening, Beppe will be delighted to share it with you!
Signature Cocktails
The history of theAmericano can be traced back to the legendary 1930s Bar Camparino in Milan, and the name seems to have originated as an appellation for the Milano-Torino, a cocktail beloved by American tourists who wanted it with a splash of soda. There are also somewhat fancier versions, such as one that sees the Americano as a tribute to boxer Primo Carnera, nicknamed "the American," or as a mispronunciation of the term "amaricante" that in Italian means "bitter."
What is known for sure is that it was the first cocktail requested by James Bond in Ian Fleming's "Casino Royale," and that at Sitea'sAmerican Bar, Beppe interprets it with an original twist: without soda and shaken.
The result?
An unusual Americano with a velvety texture.
Not to be missed.
